Summary

The Corporate Communications Specialist will support the planning, development and execution of internal and external communications that strengthen the organization’s brand, culture and reputation. They will work cross-functionally to assist with content creation, media support, digital communications, and corporate messaging across multiple channels.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.

  • Support development of internal messaging, announcements, and employee-facing content, including GBtv slides.
  • Coordinate with HR, IT, Marketing and other departments to ensure consistent and timely communication.
  • Assist with drafting, editing and distributing press releases and media materials.
  • Maintain Media Library asset management, including photos, fact sheets and other collateral.
  • Write and edit scripts, articles, blog posts, newsletters and other corporate content.
  • Support development of annual corporate publications, including the Sustainability Report (data gathering, content drafting, proofreading).
  • Assist with video production logistics, including storyboarding, scheduling, script support and on-site coordination.
  • Assist with planning and execution of corporate events.
  • Support social media content planning, drafting, scheduling and monitoring across corporate channels in coordination with Communications and Marketing teams.
  • Assist with website content updates, proofreading and coordination with Communications and Marketing teams.
  • Assist with community relations activities, including volunteer action days and charitable giving administered by the Corporate Giving Committee.
  • Maintain editorial calendars, project trackers and content libraries.
  • Coordinate reviews, approvals and version control for communications materials.
  • Help maintain relationships with external partners, agencies and media contacts as needed.
  • Support cross-functional communications initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, marketing or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems and basic analytics.
  • Clear communicator.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Creative thinker with a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and collaborate across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva or similar tools preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site at our Lake Oswego, Oregon office; remote work from other locations may be considered based on business needs.
