Summary

The Operator 2 Insulator insulates tank cars with different types of insulation appropriate to the railcar specifications.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.

  • Ensures the railcar is insulated with no gaps
  • Picks up insulation rolls and places them on the tops of railcars
  • Glues and ties insulation to railcars

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in operating various types of manufacturing equipment.

  • This position is in a production environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, moving railcars and machinery, and trip hazards where head, hearing, eye, and foot protection including composite toed safety shoes, are required
  • Additional personal protective equipment may be required as determined by the environment.
  • This position may be required to work at heights of up to 20 ft or within confined spaces.
