Summary

The Inspector, Associate is responsible for ensuring that in-process and completed work on railcars or railcar parts meet or exceed all Greenbrier, customer, and the Association of American Railroads requirements.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.

  • Performs in-process inspections and notifies production of any additional required repairs.
  • Notifies Quality Assurance Manager of non-conformances.
  • Performs inspections in accordance with all applicable Greenbrier, customer, regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Follows all Environmental Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Provides or assists in quality related training and guidance of work force crew.
  • Liaisons with customers including technical issues or other customer requests.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to identify core types and component parts.
  • General Knowledge of status indicators.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions including basic blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with customers and at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to learn and utilize the facility’s Inspection and Test Plan.
  • Ability to use measuring devices such as a micrometer, caliper, and tape measure.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to drive results through leadership and team performance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of previous experience in similar work environment.
